My son Dusty (left) and myself (right) have become SCUBA divers! In October of 1998, we completed our 5 weeks of training and have received our diving certification cards. We really got a kick out of all the things there are to see under water. I hope to share this hobby with my son for many years. I know it is something that he can do and will enjoy for the rest of his life. Learning to dive has been something I have wanted to do for many years. I never had anyone that I could dive with so I saw little reason to take the classes. But once Dusty turned 13, I decided it would be a great father and son activity. The training was hard at times. Especially the last dive. The water was colder than I expected. But all the effort was well worth what we will get out of sharing our time and dives together.

With all that is going right now, I don't think we will have the chance to go diving for some time. But when we are ready to do it again it will be nice to know we have the skills and certification required. I bet we will end up taking a refresher course because I am thinking it will be about a year or so before we can get back out and dive again.
