June 4, 2006 - Around Silver Falls
It wasn't all nice and sunny, but it wasn't too bad either. We were dry until
after leaving the falls. Then we hit some rain but it wasn't too bad. Due to a
minor slip of etiquette we lost one rider for a little bit but quickly recovered.
Next time we'll be a little more careful. Hopefully the weather will be better
next time and more people will come along.
Below are some pictures that were taken on the ride.

This ride start by meeting up in the K-Mart parking lot on Mission and 25th in Salem
because it is easy to find and it has a large parking lot.
If you are coming down I-5, take the Detroit Lake exit.

Sunday, June 04, 2006 - Silver Falls:
We headed out at around 10:00am.
This ride covers aproximatly 56 miles round trip and takes roughly 2 1/2 hours to complete including a couple rest stops to
enjoy the view and allow everyone to regroup. This is a very casual and enjoyable ride.
The first leg of the ride is to the
North Falls of the Silver Falls State Park
and takes about 40 minutes. There we make a short stop to let everyone catch up, maybe have
a soda, stretch our legs and enjoy the view. Next we head into
Silverton
which is about a 35 minute drive through some very lovely country side. Once we reach town
we make a shot stop at the
Safeway on Westfield St.
just to make sure everyone has caught up.
We make the drive back into Salem by way of
Silverton Rd. to Howell Prairie Rd. and State St.
which takes about 20 minutes.
We end our trib 10 minutes later back in the
Mission St. K-Mart parking lot
where we started our ride.
