All My Motorcycles
This page is dedicated to my love of the open road and all
of the motorcycles I have owned over the years!
For me, the open road is a rather inexpensive way to get my kicks. I love to ride for so many reasons.
It make me feel like a bird flying low. Any problems of the day melt away as my focus on road frees my
mind. I have been riding on the street since 1983. I spend much more time on the
motorcycle than in cars. I actually feel safer on the bike than in a car.
Although not completley accurate, I estimate that over the years I have been
averaging about 17,750 miles a year on my motorcycles.
In my younger years I put on a lot more miles than that every year and now not so many. I go on longer
rides now, but not as often and I don't comute very far to/from work. In any case, this is a fairly
reasonable yearly average. Who knows, when I get to retirement age, this average may start climbing
back up as time permits me to do a lot more riding. But for now, that is a safe average.
So I figure, since I got my first street bike, I have put on about 482,664
miles in the past 27 years on 7 different motorcycles and the miles keep racking up every day.
I love to ride all year long. And YES it gets wet here. As long
as the wind gusts are less than 40mph and there is no snow/ice on the road, you will
find me on two wheels. Here in Oregon, the riding is amazing. You can travel
in one day and see just about every type of environment there is to see. Drive to the coast,
through the mountains, and into the eastern Oregon desert. It is a wonderful place to live.
I only wish the nice wheather would be around for more days out of each year.
I currently own a 2007 GoldWing 1800 that I am really enjoying. It was my 2st NEW motorcycle. Looks like
I will be buying new motorcycles from hear on out. I traded in the 2006 only because I got a super deal
on this 2007. Really, the two bikes are the same. Same color, power, style and almost all the same features.
I traded the old one in when I went to get a little plastic part that popped off. The new bike has antilock
breaks and builtin navigation system. Both freatures are fantastic! The ABS is awesome! I tried it once as
a test and then a couple months later someone pulled out right in front of me. I hit the breaks as hard as
I could and still had full controll to avoid a crash that I don't think I would have avoided on any other bike.
I had this 2006 GoldWing 1800 that I am really enjoyed for about 18 months. It was my 1st NEW motorcycle.

I traded in my 1993 GoldWing 1500se to get the 2006. This is what it looked like....
I had a 1992 GoldGing 1500se for about 2 months. I crashed it when I hit some gravel in a corner so this is a sales picture...
I had a 1985 GoldWing 1200 before that. I only have one picture...
And before that I had a 1979 Yamaha 750 with a Windjammer add on faring...
My first street bike was a 1978 Honda 500 with and inline 4 cylinder engine. I bought it used in 1983 and thus
begin my addiction to being on two wheels. After a while I did mount a windshield on the bike. I like the wind
in my face but too much is too much.
I learned to ride before I was actually allowed to be on the street. But I learned
on my mother's (yes, I said my mother's) Honda 350 in a hard packed dirt field. I have
only been on an actual dirt bike a couple times and they scare the stuffing out of me.
But for some reason I have no problem being out on the street at high speed next to
the bigest trucks or smallest cars or anything in between. Go figure!
I never had any pictures of my mom's motorcycle, but this one is the same make,
model, year and color as the one she had and I learned to ride on...
