What Will They Remember

From time to time my thoughts wander
I sit and I think and then start to ponder
I come to a time when I will no longer be
What will they remember when they think of me

Will my children remember the good or the bad
Will they think of the fun that we had
Will they know love that I put out
Or will they only think of the times when I shout

The people I work with will they recall my hard work
Will they remember me as some loud mouth jerk
Will I be thought of as the one who answered the call
Or will they forget who I was at all

Will my love say I gave all I had
And think I brought her more good times than bad
Will she miss me at times and be sad
And at times think of our love and for that be quite glad

All of the people that I think of as friend
Will they think fondly of me in the end
Will they miss me and say I added to their space
Will that be enough when I leave this place

I say that I don't care what any one would think
But my time in this place could be gone in a blink
And when I go to that place up above
I want to know on Earth I had love

So I ask my self each now and then
Do I show that I am one that others call friend
And do they see I care and the love that I send
Oh what will they remember when my time is at end
